Who we are
Petty is operated by Parkfarley SAS, a société par actions simplifiée registered in France.
- Company: Parkfarley SAS
- SIREN: 989 098 165
- Registered address: 3 rue Cunin-Gridaine, 75003 Paris, France

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use the Petty mobile application ("Petty", the "App", the "Service"). It applies to all users of Petty.
We are the data controller for the personal data we process about you, as defined under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Petty is available on the App Store under the name Stay Petty. This Privacy Policy applies to both.
What we collect and why
We only collect data we need to make Petty work.
Information you provide directly
- Email address and password. Used to create and secure your account. Stored via Firebase Authentication.
- Display name and avatar. Used to identify you within your household. You choose both during onboarding.
- Household data. When you create or join a household, we store the household identifier and the link between you and your partner.
- Tasks and check-ins. Anything you create or complete in the app (task names, completion records, points).
- Disputes. When you submit a dispute, the text you write is stored so we can show you and your partner the result.
- Feedback you send us. If you send us feedback through the app or by email, we store it to help us improve Petty.
Information collected automatically
- Device identifiers for push notifications. When you enable notifications, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token tied to your device.
- IP address. Logged automatically by Firebase services for security and abuse prevention.
- Basic device information. iOS version and device type, logged by Firebase services when you use the app.
Diagnostics and crash reporting
- We use Firebase Crashlytics to monitor crashes, stability, and technical performance issues. Crashlytics collects information about crashes (such as device state, OS version, and a unique installation identifier) when the app crashes or experiences a serious error.
- We do not use Firebase Analytics, advertising analytics, or any cross-app tracking tools in this version of Petty.
Special category data
We do not intentionally request or require special category data (such as health information, religion, or political opinions). However, users may choose to include sensitive information in free-text fields such as disputes or feedback. We treat any such content with the same level of care as the rest of your data.
What we do not collect
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not collect payment information (Petty is free during beta).
Legal bases for processing
Under the GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases to process your data:
- Contract (Article 6(1)(b)): Most data we collect is necessary to deliver the Petty service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)): For security, fraud prevention, crash monitoring, and improving the app based on feedback.
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): For push notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time by disabling notifications in your iOS settings.
AI processing of disputes (important)
Petty includes an AI mediator for disputes. When you submit a dispute, the text of that dispute is transmitted to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI is based in the United States.
- What is sent: The text content of your dispute. We do not send your name, email, or other identifying information alongside the dispute text.
- What OpenAI does with it: OpenAI processes the text to generate the dispute response and returns it to us. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train OpenAI's models.
- How long OpenAI keeps it: Under OpenAI's standard API terms, content may be retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring before being deleted. We are evaluating OpenAI's Zero Data Retention option for future versions of Petty.
- What we store: We store the dispute text and response in our database (Firestore) so that you and your partner can review them.
By submitting a dispute, you understand that the dispute content will be sent to OpenAI in the United States.
Dispute responses are generated automatically by AI systems without human review. They are intended for entertainment and non-binding mediation only.
Where your data is stored
Petty uses Firebase (operated by Google LLC) for authentication, database, cloud functions, and push notifications. Firebase data is stored in multi-regional storage, which may include servers in the United States and other countries. Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, providing a legal basis for transferring data from the EU to the US.
OpenAI data transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses as part of OpenAI's API terms.
Who can see your data
- You. All your data is visible to you within the app.
- Your partner. When you join a household, your partner can see your display name, avatar, tasks, check-ins, points, and disputes within that household.
- Us (Parkfarley). We can access data when necessary for support, debugging, abuse prevention, or legal compliance. We don't read your data routinely.
- Our service providers (Firebase / Google, OpenAI, Firebase Crashlytics), strictly to deliver the parts of the service they handle.
- Legal authorities if we are required to disclose data by law.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any party not listed above.
How long we keep your data
- Active accounts: We keep your data for as long as your account is active.
- Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, we remove your personal data (such as email, display name, and avatar) from our active systems within 30 days. Shared household activity records may be retained in anonymized form so that history remains intact for your partner. Some data may remain in encrypted backups for up to a further 30 days before being permanently deleted.
- Feedback and support emails: Kept for up to 2 years to help us track recurring issues.
- Legal records: We may retain certain data longer if required by French or EU law.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the Petty app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account).
When you delete your account:
- Your personal information (email, display name, avatar, and push notification tokens) is deleted from our active systems
- Your Firebase Authentication record is deleted, so you can no longer sign in
- Household activity records (such as tasks, disputes, check-ins, and points) may remain in anonymized form so that shared household history continues to function for your partner
- The household you were part of will continue to exist for your partner, with your data disassociated from your identity
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure: Ask us to delete your data. You can do this directly in the app, or by contacting us.

- Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent: For push notifications, withdraw consent at any time via iOS settings.

Security
We protect your data using HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, Firebase's built-in security and encryption at rest, Firestore security rules, and secure password hashing via Firebase Authentication.
No system is 100% secure. If we ever detect a data breach that affects you, we will notify you and the CNIL within 72 hours as required under GDPR.
Children
Petty is intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to use Petty. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when the most recent change was made.
